Late September in Nuuksio

The lingonberries are almost gone, but the blueberry leaves have turned deep red and the lakes were perfectly still in the morning. We walked the Haukankierros loop clockwise, starting early to avoid the weekend crowds at the Haukkalampi parking area.
The steep section above the lake is slippery after rain; the wooden steps help, but take it slowly. Total walking time was a little under three hours with a coffee stop at the lean-to.
Two days in Repovesi

The Lapinsalmi suspension bridge is as wobbly as everyone says. We camped at Katajaniemi and took the hand-pulled raft across Kultajärvi the next morning. Firewood was stocked at the campfire sites, but bring your own saw.
Evening walk on Seurasaari

Not really a hike, but the island is a nice short loop close to the city. The open-air museum was closing when we arrived, so we walked the shoreline path and watched the sunset from the western rocks.
